My letter to Doctor Oliver Sacks
Recently, I sent an email to doctor Oliver Sacks. Here it is:
Dear doctor Sacks,
The chances are very high that you do not remember me but you influenced my writing greatly. In 2012, I sent you an email and your kind assistant Kate replied promptly. Then and there, I wanted to compliment your writing. And here and now, I write once again hoping this email finds you well, given the circumstances.
Wanderlust: Vancouver (English Version)
My trip consisted of three parts: two days in Vancouver, six days in Squamish and then three days back in the City and, though I hadn’t even landed, I already hated my destination. The lovely Vancouverite lady traveling next to me said: “your first hotel isn’t exactly in the prettiest area. Squamish? There’s nothing to do there! And you return to Vancouver in the middle of the gay district.”

Mi viaje consistía en tres partes: dos días en Vancouver, seis días en Squamish y luego tres días más de vuelta en la ciudad y aunque ni siquiera había aterrizado, ya odiaba mi destino. La amable Vancouveriana que viajaba al lado me dijo: “tu primer hotel queda en una zona un poco peligrosa. ¿Squamish? ¡No hay nada qué hacer! Y volvés a Vancouver en medio distrito gay.”
